How does the Airline pilot start out?

I'm a young private pilot interested in commercial aviation. Now, I know you can go to schools for it like Embry Riddle and such or do the Armed forces route, but how do you get a job at an airline? Do you just apply and they train you on a low level express aircraft? And how do you move up?

Thanks

I think you are under the misconception that airlines like American Airlines own their own regional aircraft... they do not, their partner carrier, American Eagle, is an entirely different company. They fly the short routes with little planes and American Airlines flies the big planes... Most pilots start out with a regional airline and gain experience...

When you are ready to get a job, you must make sure you meet the minimum requirements such as 1000 hours and Commercial, IFR, and Multi ratings.... then you apply... If you are hired you will be sent to training and then assigned a first officers position, after a few years you will be upgraded to captain...

Não entendi a pergunta.

you have to take a airline classes for a few months, and do a exam, if you pass they will train you for a few months. Good luck.

For very large companies they require you to have a comercial licence and an IFR certification. There may be a few charter companies that will hire you with just a private pilot licence, but most also want you to have at least 1,000 hours and so getting your flight instructor certification will aid in that.
