What is the legal future of Northwest Airline miles after the merger with Delta?

My wife and I fly Northwest Airlines a lot because of where we travel. We are wondering what the future of Northwest Airline miles is with Delta. We are thinking about getting a credit card that gives us miles, but should we get an NWA card or a Delta SkyMiles card?

wait a while and see. did northwest take over delta, or did delta take over northwest. i believe they will be using delta as the name, but i don't know for sure. your best bet would be to wait a while and see. don't do anything just yet.
